The first national park of Vietnam is situated in the territory of the three provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa, with a total area of 22,200 ha. The relics of prehistoric period which have the dating about 12,000 years, have been discovered such as tombs, stone axes, stone arrows, knives made of shells, grinding tools … in some of the caves here. This proves that people had lived in this area from 7,000 to 12,000 years ago. Some of famous caves are The Ancient People Cave, Con Moong Cave, Prince Consort Cave …
